The Cabernet Sauvignon comes from soils in the foothills of the Andes with a loamy clay, gravel and low soil fertility and with drip irrigation techniques. Carmenère and Cabernet Franc grow on the well-drained soil of alluvial origin, which helps to improve the balance and root formation of the plant.
Dry, with always good clarity during the harvest period. The influence of the sea breeze from the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountains moderates the temperature variation between day and night, enhancing the concentration of aromas and flavors of the grapes.

Harvest year
Late April and early May
from the winemaker
The grapes that come in for our Millantú wine come from different batches that have been hand selected and identified in our own vineyards in the Maipo Valley to obtain higher wine production potential in collaboration with special vineyard management (pruning and crowning) to maximize fruit quality.
The vineyard is irrigated during the final stage of the ripening process, improving the concentration, colour, aroma and taste of the grapes.
The harvest takes place at the end of April and the beginning of May. Grapes are 100 % hand-picked as a way to preserve the quality and integrity of the clusters.
The Grapes are destemmed and taken to stainless steel tanks for pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature between 25 and 29 ° C, with selected yeasts. After alcoholic fermentation, each variety is aged separately in fine-grained French oak barrels for 16 to 18 months before mixing the final blend, assessing the evolution of each individual barrel.
