Castellani
Alfredo the Patriarch was already a well-known local wine producer and trader in Puglia . But it was in 1903, with the official establishment of the company, that his sons, Duilio and Mario, started expanding the company.
From then on, generation after generation, the family began to consolidate as one of the most important names in Tuscan winemaking.
Today, under Piergiorgio's baton, Castellani owns six properties in the region and manages a number of brands, wineries and vineyards in the main producing areas of south-central Italy.

The grape variety needs a long ripening period, it flowers early and ripens late. It is a difficult variety to cultivate and has a specific preference for heat and climate. It needs quite a bit of heat, but not too much.
