Piemonte red wines The Piemonte region or also called Piedmont is located in the northwest of Italy. Piemonte means at the foot of the mountain and is located on the south side of the Alps. The region is famous for the production of Barolo , Barbaresco and Barbera wines. Because the Piedmont lies against the Alps and the Apennines, the nights are cooler, so that the grapes can develop more acids and give them a nice freshness. there is a continental climate in the Piedmont.
