Tasting note:
This beautiful wine from the famous Sancerre wine region in the Loire is characterized by Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
A clear, golden yellow wine with subdued aromas of ripe gooseberries and fresh citrus fruits. Full-bodied, balanced and lively with a characteristic underlying mineral note.
Sancerre is an area located on the left bank of the Loire Valley. Sancerre is best known as a dry white wine made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. The area has approximately 2,400 hectares planted with Sauvignon grapes.
A Sancerre wine is a dry, fragrant, juicy and fruity wine. The vines are planted on the hills with an altitude of 300 to 400 meters.
Sancerre owes its character to different soil types such as pebble, gravel and the calcareous clay soil. The slopes near the village of Sancerre contain flint (silex), which produces very aromatic wines. The wine is a good food combination with goat cheese and fish.
