Remoissenet Pere & Fils Givry Blanc
Tasting note:
Medium straw yellow, subdued scent of ripe jonagold and peach, minerally refined. Also quite introverted on the palate, with pear, apple and melon and a beautiful freshness. Suitable as an aperitif and delicious with crustaceans and shellfish
Remoissenet Pere & Fils
Maison Remoissenet Père et Fils has more than a century of winemaking history in Burgundy, France and is one of Beaune's richest estates. The estate was founded in 1877, in a 14th century building in Beaune and is best known for its grand and premium Cru Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Remoissenet Père et Fils owns 13 hectares of vineyard in Beaune and Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate also buys fruit from growers, but of quality, not quantity, with bonuses offered where the quality exceeds expectations. Grand cru wines, both white and red, can see up to 100 percent new French oak in the aging process and reds are not fined or filtered.
In 2005, Maison Remoissenet sold Père et Fils to a group that included New York financier Edward Millstein, Toronto's Todd Halpern and Maison Louis Jadot , when Roland Remoissenet retired at the age of 75. The sale included the company, the vineyards, the famous cellar and everything inside, including old vintages of grand cru wines such as Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet.
Former president of Louis Jadot , Bernard Répolt, leads the consortium of owners of Remoissenet Père et Fils and has expanded production and received positive press for the increased quality of wines produced.
