Bodegas Avelino Vegas
Winery founded in 1950 by Avelino Vegas in the Segovia village of Santiuste de San Juan Bautista. The winery started producing wines with grapes from the area. Today, several members of the third generation are included in the company's management. Cristina Vegas, the granddaughter of the founder (biotechnologist and holder of the national diploma in oenology from the University of Bordeaux), is in charge of oenological management.
The Vineyard
From vineyards with an average age of 50 years and aged for 7 months in new American oak barrels. Fuentespina 7, Ribera del Duero in its purest form.
Tempranillo wine
The winery manages hundred-year-old, low-yield vineyards in several unique locations. These soils have a limestone and sand component in the case of Ribera del Duero, which contributed to a special climate and produced a Tempranillo of extraordinary quality.
Wine and Spice
Try it with mushrooms and fungi, grilled fish, red meat, small game and semi-cured cheeses.
