Monte da Ravasqueira is a family winery located in the famous Alentejo wine region. Its history begins in 1943, when the 3,000-hectare estate was purchased by D. Manuel de Mello as a home for his family and a retreat from the city. In 1966, with the death of D. Manuel, ownership passed to his son, José Manuel de Mello, who dedicated himself to raising the Lusitano horse. In 1998, the first vines were planted in Monte da Ravasqueira and the first wine was launched in 2003. With the death of José Manuel de Mello in 2009, control of the winery is under the command of his twelve children. In 2012, Pedro Pereira Gonçalves takes over the administration and exclusive brands are launched, such as Guarda Rios, Coutada Velha and Landau
