The Tempranillo is a red grape variety that is one of the most noble grape varieties for making wine.
The grape has a thick skin. It is a grape that gives little acid, little sweetness to a wine. To reach full richness the grape needs a warm climate.
Especially in Spain on the warm massive plateau the grape is the basis for high quality wines. It is the grape for the most famous wine regions in Spain, the Ribeira del Duero, Rioja, but also in Navarra and Penedès, two northern Spanish wine regions, the tempranillo plays a major role. In addition, we still encounter a large amount of the grape in the Languedoc-Roussillon.
Muriel Wines was born as a family business with a strong bond with its place of origin. Today, it has become a large global company with a significant base of activities dedicated to export. But we remain very close to our roots: we live with one foot in the vineyard and the other in the rest of the world.
As the way of making, knowing and tasting wine changes, we have been able to adapt without losing our essence. Like good wine, the secret lies in the balance between production tradition and the innovative spirit. Between authenticity and a cosmopolitan vocation.
Because we are what we do and making wine is our way of being, our calling, our heritage, our way of understanding life.
We make wine for the harmony of the senses, for the understanding of flavours. To spread the culture of the present, listening to the advice of the past. We make wine that looks to the future, attentive to the diversity of emotions. We make wine for the understanding of cultures, for the joy of the public. We make wine for the world.
