Domaine Saint Cels
Saint-Cels is first and foremost a family story... Its history begins in 1970, when the grandfather Henri Calas acquired the Saint-Cels domain: in the locality of Saint-Chinian. He plants Chardonnay and Syrah: varieties are still not widespread on this soil. In 1993, Étienne Rouanet, his grandson, succeeded him and worked to cultivate the vines in a "traditional" way while respecting the ecology of the soil. The estate produces red, white and rosé wines in AOP Saint-Chinian & IGP Pays d'Oc
At the same time inspired by Etienne's professional training, the grandfather's tradition, and with the experience, the field wants to leave a path marked by the mechanization and the use of worrying pesticides, to this track of "Modernity" and literally come to our country. It goes without saying that the idea of converting the Domaine Saint Cels to organic viticulture will arise , using an innovative way of cultivating our soils with real "agro-ecological tools" that are plant covers.
