Propstei Ebernach a family winery from Cochem with tradition...

winery Ebernach. The brothers Dr. Peter-Josef Zenzen and Heinz-Rudolf Zenzen have set themselves the goal of successfully continuing the long tradition of the Kloster/Propstei Ebernach winery. Viticulture on the site looks back on a history of 350 years: in 1673, the monastery took over the Plants and the vineyard. Such a tradition requires experience – and the Zenzen brothers have it. The 13th generation of the Valwig family is dedicated to viticulture, Heinz-Rudolf and Dr. Peter-Josef Zenzen got to know the winemaking trade in their youth. Today, Dr. Peter-Josef Zenzen is Manager of the winery Einig Zenzen in Kaisersesch. The family business sells quality wines all over the world. At Weingut Ebernach they use all this experience,

But to continue the tradition, you also have to look ahead. In order not only to attract friends of the Moselle Riesling, we have come up with a number of ideas for the Ebernach winery. At the Ebernach winery we offer carefully selected quality wines from other regions - to try and enjoy at home or with us.

We want the winery to be a place that invites you to linger - our repertoire of events is constantly growing!

When it comes to viticulture, we rely on quality through experience - and Christian Kruft has that in abundance! As a cellar master, the young winemaker ensures the quality of the Ebernach monastery wine. Christian Kruft is originally from Rheinbrohl and that is where his enthusiasm for good wine comes from. He went to the Ahr for an apprenticeship as a winemaker, after which he spent six months at the Eberbach Abbey winery. Christian Kruft trained as a viticultural technician and in the meantime also gained experience in a biodynamic winery in Rheinhessen. The young winegrower last worked in Werder an der Havel before we could win him over to the Ebernach winery. Christian Kruft has been with us since the spring of 2019.
