The privilege of Château Dauzac lies in its 49 hectares of vineyards spread over the Margaux and Haut-Médoc appellation. Protected from sea winds by the 70 hectares of forests that surround them, the vines grow in a layer of gravelly soil with a subsoil of clay and chalk below. We find about 70 % Cabernet Sauvignon , 29 % Merlot and a few Petit Verdot vines. The harvests are done by hand to respect the integrity of the fruit. Each plot is vinified separately with very gentle extractions. In 2016, Château Dauzac was the first of the 1855 grands crus classés to produce a vegan wine using vegetable protein instead of egg white during the fining process. The wines mature for 12 to 18 months in barrels (60 % new). It has a strong, crimson color and a delicious bouquet that combines black fruits and spices. In the mouth, very rich. The tannins take a few years to soften. This is a fine, keep wine
