Shipped worldwide, large selection of wines
Tasting note:
With an attractive pale straw yellow, this wine elegantly shows everything that Xarel lo can bring to the table: fresh fruit such as pear, green apple or quince, lemon scent and orange or almond blossom. In the mouth it is fresh with lively acidity and a slightly bitter finish typical of the Penedès flagship.
The beginning
Pioneers in vines and organic wines
Albet i Noya, pioneers in organic farming wines since 1978. No one told us it would be easy; in fact, many believed it was impossible, but with desire, with certainty, with audacity, with a point of madness, with creativity and with respect for everything that surrounds us, we have arrived here. And we will not stop.
The adventure continues.
Can Vendrell
Our home, our origins
History of the adventure
Five generations of farmers
In 1903, during the phylloxera crisis, our rebisavi, Joan Albet and Rovirosa, arrived in the Penedès and the vineyards of Can Vendrell de la Codina, in Sant Pau d'Ordal. And here he stayed. For five generations, the Albet family, masters of Can Vendrell, has grown, loved and seen the vines that are now the protagonists of our wines.
But that wasn’t enough and at the end of the 70s the opportunity for our house passed us by and we reluctantly decided to give it a place. A Danish company went back to Penedes looking for an organic winery. Nobody had ever heard of organic wines. But curiosity won and so we started the adventure.
Josep Maria Albet
The Celler del Xapalla
The cellar
Welcome to our home
Near Sant Pau d'Ordal, in the Can Vendrell de la Codina estate, we have our modernist winery designed by Josep Maria Pericas in 1925. In recent years, in Albet and Noya, we have expanded and modernized the facilities with the Xapallà cellar, built in 2004, where we refine and grow the red wines, and the Era cellar, equipped with the most luxurious and respectful technology, where the only range is made exclusively and separately. high of Albet i Noya. We have also acquired new vineyards, such as the Finca de Can Milà, in Lavern, or the Can Simó estate, in the Mediona area.
The Great House
The large house, dating from 1872, is the reception, the shop and the meeting point for all our visitors. We have a majestic lounge with a capacity for up to 50 people and a garden with privileged views to make tastings, lunches and all kinds of events. Attached to this house we also find the old farmhouse of masovers, which now houses our offices, and that is documented from 1400. Our goal is to always feel like you are at home, because when you are here, you are also You are part of our adventure.
The wine bowl
For art lovers it is a must see. The bowl of wine, a great work by the artist Joan Raven (Vilafranca, 1963) that presides over the ladder of the great house along the four floors. A faithful representation, with some dreamy fibers, of the vegetative cycle of the vineyard and of the entire process of winemaking. From land and origin to enjoyment and the final eruption.
