The Bobal is originally a grape that grows in Valencia. This Murviedro winery makes a particularly soft and tasty red wine with this Cepas Viejas... a soft, fruity aroma with a fine spicy touch. The taste is juicy and fruity with a slightly spicy but pleasant aftertaste
"Sericis", silky in Latin. A family of wines from Bodegas Murviedro that honor the ancient Casa de la Seda de Requena with its name. Two of them, the old Sericis varieties Bobal and the old Sericis varieties Monastrell, both from 2016, have been awarded the silver medal of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2020
Bodegas Murviedro was founded in 1927 as the Spanish subsidiary of the Schenk Group, one of the leading companies in the wine sector in Europe. In 1997 they moved their facilities from the Grao de Valencia to their current location in the city of Requena, Valencia. The company is still owned by the same family and maintains the values of a professionally managed family business. The Schenk Group was founded in Switzerland in 1893. The vision of the founder, Arnold Schenk, was to create a wine conglomerate with a European dimension. Barely 100 years later, Schenk has holdings in Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Benelux and the United Kingdom. This pan-European structure has made Schenk a unique company in the wine world. The Schenk Group covers all phases of the process, from vineyard management to direct sales, with a particular emphasis on European market structures. Schenk has maintained its commitment to producing quality wine by investing in human resources and technology across Europe. Today, Bodegas Murviedro is a company that combines tradition with advanced technology and produces quality wines from the appellations of Valencia, Utiel-Requena, Alicante, Jumilla, Rueda, Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla and Cava.
