Since ancient times, man has made great use of the exceptional resources of what would become the world's most prestigious wine-growing region. Thanks to its generous geology and favorable rainfall, the Bordeaux vineyard charms wine lovers around the world with its exceptionally diverse range of creamy, flavoursome wines.
To receive the Bordeaux appellation, the grapes must come only from a specific geographic area and belong to the following grape varieties: Cabernet- Sauvignon , Merlot , Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot for red wines, Sauvignon , Sémillion and Muscadelle for white wines. A few other varieties can be used if they don't exceed a certain percentage.
Red wines from vines that are at least 21 years old and aged for at least 12 months in oak barrels and some white wines are also allowed to use the Bordeaux Supérieur designation.
