Shipped worldwide, large selection of wines
Tasting note:
This Côtes du Rhône is composed from Grenache, for its fruitiness and Mourvedre, Monastrel Syrah, for its freshness. Power and complexity go well together. The wine is deliberately not filtered and may therefore contain some deposit.
The history of this originally Italian family dates back to the 1930s. The wine estate was founded in 1948. In 1963, son Raymond Usseglio gave his name to the domain.
Since 2000, Stéphane has been trying to fully exploit the potential of the Chateauneuf du Pape domain , which now covers 24 hectares. The domain has the potential to produce some of the best terroirs of Châteneuf du Pape. Half of the vines are close to the road in the lieu-dit “La Crau” and the other half across the ruins of the new castle of the then Pope.
Stéphane has very old vines. The average age is 50-60 years. For his Cuvée Imperiale even 110 year old vines. Usseglio is generally regarded as one of the top producers, Usseglio makes beautiful wines every year, including his very affordable Côtes du Rhone wines.
