Les Charmots is located on a hill that is particularly well oriented to the southeast.
They rank third in the hierarchy of Pommard Premiers Crus, both in terms of reputation and area (9ha 64a).
Surrounded by a stone wall, Clos Des Charmots is an ancient vineyard of fine Pinot Noir, planted in 1901 and 1925.
The wine comes from a vineyard that is distinguished by very subtle nuances, light, red and stony.
A rich and silky wine, bouquet-like and complex. It is of great finesse, both in its aromas of fruit and in its flavors. In the mouth it is round and deep.
We operate one of the oldest family properties in Pommard: an ancestor, Jean Bourgogne, settled there in 1552. He leased the vines of the Sainte Marguerite de Bouilland Abbey, located in Pommard, for 99 years: The estate has spanned generations built up.
To our great joy, we have managed to maintain the family character of our estate.
The Domaine is currently spread over three municipalities: Pommard, Volnay and Beaune. Our vineyard allows us to vinify thirteen different appellations, allowing the places to express all the richness of these fantastic terroirs.
Our working method remains in line with ancestral traditions. It is painstaking and diligent work all year round, in the vineyards and in the cellars. Severe pruning in winter and disbursement in May allow us to control yields well.
Reasoned control is applied against diseases and parasites to better respect the environment. The soils are worked mechanically, without herbicides, to preserve the life of the soil and these very beautiful terroirs.
The harvest is manual, the destemming is 100% done. The vinification is aimed at obtaining wines with charm, elegance, great finesse and good aging.
The wines are then taken to the cellars, the oldest of which dates from the early 17th century. Maturation takes place partly in new oak barrels and lasts 14 to 18 months, depending on the cuvée, before bottling.
The harvest is sold to private individuals, restaurants and professionals.
