Deep ruby red in colour, with aromas of black fruit, namely blackberries, plums and ripe black cherries over subtler notes of cocoa, licorice and sweet spices. On the palate the wine is soft, with silky tannins and an invigorating acidity, with a structural balance well into the finish.

The vineyards are located in the Notri area , a small town just outside the beautiful Suvereto in the beautiful south of Tuscany. This is where the Domain Rita Tua started, as one of the first they started planting Merlot , Syrah and Cabernet sauvignon. In 2000, this led to a 100-point score from well-known wine advocates for the Redigaffi. The valley in which the vineyards are located enjoys the cooling sea breeze during the day and the wind from the land at night. It is a rather sandy terroir.
