Chateauneuf du Pape
Chateau Fargueirol
This Chateau Fargueirol Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge is a true classic from the Rhône region! Beautiful ruby red color with an expressive nose of red and black fruit and some black pepper. Smooth attack with fleshy tannins and flavors of ripe black fruit.
Chateau Fargueirol basks in its exceptional location in the north of the Appellation, surrounded by vineyards at a slight elevation with stunning views of Mont Ventoux, the Rhone River and the Châteauneuf du Pape Castle. Chateau Fargueirol is one of the oldest estates of Châteauneuf du Pape. It was mentioned in the archives of the village as early as the 17th century. It then belonged to the Revoltier family, who, under the direct jurisdiction of the Archbishop of Avignon, owned a farm surrounded by vineyards, the birthplace of the current domain
Since 2019, the Domaine has been certified with a High Environmental Value!
The High Environmental Value (HVE) is based on environmental performance indicators that relate to the entire business operation. The certification makes it possible to certify that the elements of biodiversity (hedges, grass strips, trees, flowers, insects, etc.) are very widespread on the farm and that the pressure of agricultural practices on the environment (air, climate, water , soil, biodiversity, landscapes) is kept to a minimum.
The High Environmental Value (or HVE) certification promotes agricultural practices that respect the environment. And this at the level of the entire farm. After all, the farmer's effort relates just as much to water management as to fertilization, crop protection or the preservation of biodiversity.
So : Agro-ecological elements (hedges, waterways, insects, birds, beehives, wild flora, diversity of cultivated plant species and farmed animal species) should be promoted on the farm.
- The use of phytosanitary agents and fertilizers should be as low as possible.
- Water resources must be managed as accurately as possible.
- Soil quality must be maintained by controlling the nitrogen supply as well as possible (75 % of the soil is covered in autumn)
