Bodegas Amaren
Bodegas Amaren was born in honor of Ángeles, wife of Luis Cañas and mother of Juan Luis (Bodegas Luis Cañas, Rioja Alavesa).
In 1995, Juan Luis Cañas came up with another wine, one that would fully express the varietal personality. 100 % Tempranillo from several plots of old vineyards. At that moment his mother Ángeles dies and that's when he decides to dedicate his creation to him, his new perfume: Amaren Reserva Tempranillo 1995. That's where everything comes from, from a mother's love, because Amaren in Basque means 'of the mother '. Ángeles was a fundamental pillar in the creation and development of Bodegas Luis Cañas and that is why his son will not stop until he can honor her with his own winery in 2016.
